Following the UX Design Process, we first define the problem statement that VerseVault solves. Book lovers had no app of their own to share exclusively bookish content, with similar apps like Pinterest and Tumblr containing hundreds of sub-communities, novels being just one of them. Creating a space that solely about books means users are rid of distractions and can focus on engaging in what truly makes them happy.
Low-Fidelity sketches of the app’s user flow
The usability testing of the app made it clear that users would appreciate being able to include images in their comments, so this was incorporated into the high-fidelity prototype.
Target Users:
Readers who want book recommendations and inspiration from other readers; those who use apps for browsing.
Through a mixture of background research, surveys, and competitive analysis, it was clear that the app had to feature the following integrations as they were brought up repeatedly:
Bookmark feature
Pages for specific books
Collaborator option to boards
